Crisis Financial Assistance

Neighborhood House is known as a prevention provider in Ramsey County. Preventing Homelessness and Evictions. Our crisis financial services are not limited to assisting with housing but housing is one of the most requested areas of need.  

Our team will help participants find resources to help them avoid homelessness, such as:

  • Rent payments
  • Damage deposits
  • Mortgage payments
  • Utility payments
  • Gas or bus cards – for those already experiencing homelessness
  • Hotel/Motel stays – for those already experiencing homelessness
  • Car repairs
  • Referrals to other resources in the community
  • At Neighborhood House, we help with requests that are unique.

Crisis Clinics

This is a time when families would come in and meet face to face with a worker to work on solutions to have their crisis situation resolved or provide other resources that could possibly assist them.

Court Clinics

(Ramsey County Civil Housing Court) – We provide financial resources to defendants in need of these resources to avoid eviction. As part of this program our staff attends Ramsey County Civil Housing Court virtually and work with other community partners (such as Ramsey County Emergency Assistance, Emergency General Assistance, Community Action Partners, SMRLS, VLN, and others) to help participants and landlords come to a resolution.

Call in

Families call the service connect line. The family is either sent to a crisis clinic or expedited to a crisis worker immediately depending on the need.
