Family Centers help families build an informal network of trusted friends in their community so they have a support system for meeting practical, social, and emotional needs. One way in which we build these social connections is by encouraging participants to volunteer in our advisory committees. Through these committees’ parents volunteer to design, plan, and implement programs, creating a bond with each other, staff, and the community at large. In addition, Family Centers sponsor many cultural and family fun events throughout the year to break down social isolation and build community.
