NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE TO OPEN NEW CENTER IN WEST 7TH NEIGHBORHOOD OF ST. PAUL, MINN.
ST. PAUL, MN – Neighborhood House, a pillar of support in the St. Paul community for more than 125 years, is excited to announce the opening of its new center on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 1080 Montreal Ave in St. Paul. This groundbreaking center, “Neighborhood House on Montreal,” will deepen our commitment to serving refugees, immigrants, and those in transition or crisis, marking a significant milestone in our longstanding history of fostering success and empowerment for all.
The new center represents a pivotal step forward in Neighborhood House’s mission to provide comprehensive and accessible social services to families and individuals, entirely free of cost. This expansion aligns with our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the community, particularly addressing the critical issue of hunger and providing basic needs, while also creating opportunities for success through educational programming.
The first two programs to be offered at the center’s opening will include the Food Support Program and our Family Centers, both previously located at the Sibley Manor Apartments, which are set to close on May 29.
We know that many people in the West 7th neighborhood face food insecurity, and our new center will feature a cost-free, more accessible, larger food market to ensure essential sustenance for those in need. In support of this initiative, local organizations, businesses, and supporters are hosting food drives in June to help keep our shelves stocked.
In the fall, Neighborhood House plans to expand its programming further at the new center. Adult Education will offer classes including GED preparation, citizenship preparation, and English language skills, equipping adult learners with essential skills and knowledge for personal and professional growth.
To further support families and youth, the new center will include a preschool and our Parent & Early Childhood Program, enhancing our capacity to provide a nurturing and enriching environment for children and families. Through these initiatives, Neighborhood House seeks to fortify the social fabric of the St. Paul community, fostering resilience and empowerment for generations to come.
As we embark on this transformative journey, Neighborhood House remains committed to fostering an inclusive, compassionate, and thriving community for all. Please stay tuned on our website and social media channels for more information.
