Here’s how you can partner with us to support immigrant families during this crisis.
Volunteer:
We’ve received many comments and messages about volunteering for our new Basic Needs Delivery Service. At this time, we have enough volunteers to operate the service and a wait list of over 600 people. You are still welcome to sign up for the wait list on our Volunteer page, but it may take some time to process your wait list application. Thank you for your patience. We do have one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities available for individuals and groups.
Donate Funds for Emergency Food Relief:
Neighborhood House is partnering with El Burrito Mercado to ensure families can receive food and essential items in ways that prioritize dignity, privacy, and safety. You can support this work in three ways:
- Purchase El Burrito Mercado gift cards online or in person. El Burrito Mercado will donate them directly to Neighborhood House. Neighborhood House will use these cards to purchase culturally relevant foods requested by families.
Click here to buy El Burrito Gift Cards online. Enter giftcards@neighborhoodhousemn.org as the recipient. You do not need add any information in the Personalize Your Card section.
- Shop at El Burrito Mercado and donate non-perishable food at the collection box inside El Burrito Mercado.
- Donate directly to Neighborhood House by selecting “Emergency Food Delivery” under “What would you like your donation to support?” We will use funds to purchase culturally relevant foods from El Burrito Mercado.

Donate Basic Needs Items:
In addition to culturally relevant foods from El Burrito Mercado, we also provide families with basic needs items from our inventory, such as personal hygiene products and diapers. Learn about our most urgent needs and how you can donate to us by visiting our In-Kind Giving page.
You can also support us by dropping donations off with local businesses who are currently collecting our most-needed items. We’re sharing these donation drives on our Facebook and Instagram accounts, so please visit our social media to find a drop-off location near you.

Proud to support communities built by immigrants for 128 years.
Neighborhood House has supported immigrants and refugees on St. Paul’s West Side for over 128 years. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe and celebrated in our shared community, and we know that our neighborhoods are stronger and richer because of the cultural strengths and contributions of immigrants.
When neighbors help neighbors, extraordinary things happen. In a moment of uncertainty and fear, thank you for choosing compassion and action.
