Neighborhood House is excited to announce that La Tasha Shevlin has joined the organization as Chief Program Officer as of October 5, 2026.
Shevlin has 17 years of nonprofit leadership experience spanning program development, workforce development, college success, organizational growth, and change leadership. In her new role, she will work closely with organizational leadership and staff across Neighborhood House’s program areas.
Shevlin joins Neighborhood House at an important moment. The organization, which supports 29,000 people annually, is building on 129 years of service and planning for its next chapter. As Chief Program Officer, Shevlin will help position Neighborhood House to adapt and evolve while centering the community.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome La Tasha to Neighborhood House,” said Janet Gracia, President and CEO of Neighborhood House. “Her deep program expertise and people leadership will support our commitment to hope, opportunity, and dignity for all. As Neighborhood House continues to respond to emerging community needs and look toward our future, La Tasha will help us strengthen the connections across our programs, invest in our program teams, and ensure that our neighbors have the support they need to build safe, stable lives.”
Most recently, Shevlin served as Director of Career Development at Wallin Education Partners, where she led the organization’s career services strategy supporting more than 1,900 college scholars and oversaw the integration of UpTurnships into Wallin’s broader portfolio of scholar services.
Prior to joining Wallin, Shevlin served as Executive Director of UpTurnships, leading the organization through significant growth and ultimately a merger with Wallin Education Partners. Her earlier leadership roles include Director of College Success at College Possible Minnesota, where she led a 45-person department supporting college students across Minnesota, and Director of Adult Employment & Training at East Side Neighborhood Services.
She holds a Master of Education in Family Education and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Development from the University of Minnesota. A former member of the University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development Alumni Society Board, Shevlin remains actively involved in CEHD Alumni Society initiatives.
