Celebrating the Educators of Neighborhood House
May 4–8, 2026, is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re taking time to reflect on the people who make our classrooms more than just spaces for learning. At Neighborhood House, our educators help create environments where growth and opportunity come together.
They show up with care and a deep commitment to the community. When asked what their favorite part of teaching is, the answers all came back to the moments when something clicks, confidence grows, and learners begin to see new possibilities for themselves. Those everyday moments add up to stronger greater opportunities for learners to gain the skills they need to thrive.
Learning is built on trust and connection, and it is not just the educators and volunteers who co-create community but the students themselves. They create supportive and inclusive environments where people can bring their full selves and share their experiences. One teacher, when asked what they wished people knew about their program, said, “I wish people knew how amazing and hard-working our students are. We serve students in [Saint Paul Public Schools], in person at Wellstone, and online. All of our students put passion and dedication into their learning.”
Education at Neighborhood House is an essential part of our wrap-around services. When learners walk into a classroom, they’re not just building academic skills. They’re gaining confidence, developing relationships, and discovering new possibilities for themselves and their futures.
We welcome you to learn more about our education programs and get involved. Whether through volunteering, donating, or sharing our mission, your support helps sustain these spaces of learning and connection.
