Movies in the Parks provides a wide range of outdoor films at parks and recreation centers around Saint Paul. Movies in the Parks events are free and open to the public. Movies are weather dependent and subject to change without notice. All children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Rated R movies are 18+ events. Movies in the Parks are pet friendly events (unless otherwise noted)\, but pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6ft at all times. Unless otherwise noted\, all movies will be closed captioned in English. \n2023 Movies in the Parks Schedule\nMovies typically begin at dusk\, but some may start earlier or later. Some offer pre-show activities or food trucks and those will be announced as they are finalized\, so check back for updates.

SUMMARY:Safe Summer Nights - Wellstone Center/El Rio Vista Rec Center
DESCRIPTION:How do you spread safety and goodwill throughout the City of Saint Paul?  By firing up the grill of course! \nThe Safe Summer Nights program is designed to provide opportunities for police officers to become acquainted with residents of the neighborhoods they serve over a meal rather than during times of trouble. The initiative began in 2014 when Safe Summer Nights partnered with the Saint Paul Police Department and the Saint Paul Parks & Recreation Department to host events in Saint Paul that brought neighborhood families and police officers together in a picnic-type setting. Safe Summer Nights help bridge the gap between police and the people they serve. \nSchedule:   \nThe FREE\, public events feature food\, activities for children and ample opportunities for attendees to meet their Saint Paul police officers. The Bear Cat vehicle\, which is always popular with kids\, will be there too.  Each event occurs on Thursday from 5pm-7pm.
